Foo Fighters have announced that first episode of Sonic Highways will premiere October 17 on HBO (USA) and will feature a brand new song from their upcoming new album. The show will air every Friday evening after the first episode.
Earlier this week the band revealed they have finished work on their new album and is due for a release in November. The album has been produced by Butch Vig who tweeted on Wednesday (July 30) “We are officially done with the new Foo Fighters album. 23 straight days mixing! IT’S EPIC!!!”
The album was recorded in eight different studios across America and is documented in the HBO mini-series. Dave Grohl again acts as directed for the project like he did on 2013’s Sound City documentary.
Foo Fighters have also sold out their London comeback gig in a matter of hours. The band will close the Invictus Games on September 14.
The Invictus Games takes place at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and see’s Grohl and co headline a line-up that includes Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams and James Blunt amongst others. The 26,000 capacity outdoor show will take place on the south lawn of the Olympic Park. Highlights of the show will be on the BBC.
